Let's Explore Quezon Province

Introduction

This article is about the province named after the Philippines' second president, Manuel Quezon.

Quezon is a province in the Philippines, formally known as the Province of Quezon (Tagalog: Lalawigan ng Quezon). It is located in the CALABARZON area of Luzon. Manuel L. Quezon, the Philippines' second President and the first to be freely elected, was honored with the province's name. As a highly urbanized city, Lucena, the provincial capital, seat of the provincial administration, and most populous city in the province, is governed independently from the province. It is frequently referred to as Quezon Province to separate it from Quezon City.

Quezon is located southeast of Metro Manila and is bordered on the north by the provinces of Aurora, Bulacan, Rizal, Laguna, and Batangas, on the west by the provinces of Bulacan, Rizal, Laguna, and Batangas, and on the east by the provinces of Camarines Norte and Camarines Sur. Quezon is located on an isthmus that connects the Bicol Peninsula to the rest of Luzon. The Polillo Islands in the Philippine Sea are also part of the province. The province also includes certain maritime areas of the Verde Island Passage, which is at the heart of the world's marine biodiversity.

Mount Banahaw is a notable tourist attraction in the province. Many Anitist believers, Christian cults, and Christian groups stay on the mountain, which is surrounded by spiritual mysticism. Prior to the entrance of the Spanish, the mountain was also one of the most sacred sites for pre-colonial Tagalog people. During Holy Week, the mountain attracts a large number of pilgrims.
